Web Design & Development
Design that makes a difference
Whether you're looking to motivate people behind an issue or cause, a candidate, or a product or service, BSD can help, by designing, developing, and deploying a results-oriented Web site.
By "results-oriented," we mean a site that doesn't just entertain and inform, but that has specific action goals in mind, and that uses sound direct-response principles to funnel site visitors (your constituents) into those specific actions, to the benefit of your organization and the issues and causes it supports.
Our Web work is nominated every year for Web design and development awards such as Pollies for our skill at engendering commitment and action, and we often win. Those plaudits are testament to our ability to work with you to formulate your goals, and then to convert them into a Web site that generates emotional response, commitment, and action.
How we work together
Typically, our design process begins with a planning meeting in which we help you identify your communications goals, evaluate your existing Web site and current communications strategies and tactics together, and review some examples of effective design (including both BSD's work, and the work of other organizations or companies like yours whose online efforts you respect).
With this information, we're typically able to present you with multiple design concepts, which we again review together with you and refine to create a final product for development and implementation. Between six and twelve weeks typically elapse from the day we begin working together to the day your site is launched, although the implementation calendar can vary significantly according to the complexity of your content and design needs.
Almost all the Web sites we develop and deploy are founded on the BSD Online Tools, our industry-leading application that provides powerful grassroots social networking, advocacy, and fundraising features for Web-based communities.
Keeping your content fresh
The BSD advantage doesn't end when your Web site is launched. Because of the complexity of Web site maintenance, especially in organizations with limited technology resources, many organizations tend to let their Web sites go stale. But if your goal is to project a living, breathing, evolving organization to your constituents, a home page that feels like a deserted old-West street with tumbleweeds blowing past is the worst possible situation.
The content management capabilities built into the BSD Online Tools make it easy for you to extend and maintain your Web site over time, even if you're technology-challenged or resource-constrained -- which helps you reap the benefit of continued community involvement as your organization grows, its priorities evolve, or you pursue advocacy, fundraising, or other member-oriented campaigns.
For larger organizations with the need for more systematic communications strategy, the BSD Strategy Team stands ready to help you develop and manage a program that will meet your public communications, fundraising, and advocacy goals, through individual campaigns and initiatives that take full advantage of the capabilities built into the BSD Online Tools.
